New Roles for Some in INBA Leadership
Two INBA members resigned their positions today, as part of the Summer 2014 Board Meeting. Jenna Dooley will no longer be Recording Secretary, which involves taking minutes at meetings and producing the monthly TuneIn newsletter. Dooley is taking on new teaching responsibilities at Northern Illinois University, along with her duties at WNIJ radio, and said she will no longer be able to give the INBA position 100 percent. At the board meeting, Jasmine Crighton (pictured above) was nominated and elected as the new Recording Secretary. Crighton teaches TV journalism and production at Western Illinois University. She has been working with Dooley in order to ensure a smooth transition of duties. The Recording Secretary position comes up for election each fall at the INBA General Membership Meeting.
Web Committee Chair Sean Powers also resigned, because he has accepted a new position at Georgia Public Radio in Atlanta and will be leaving WILL radio in Champaign in 2 weeks. Powers will be replaced by Laura Trendle Polus, who teaches Broadcast Journalism at Illinois State University, and will work with Normal resident Matt Swaney, who designed and administers the website.
