INBA Pitches to IBA Leaders
Two INBA members gave a group of broadcast managers reasons to support INBA membership for their newsroom staffs.
Resource Manager H Wayne Wilson and Molly Hall made the pitch Wednesday afternoon at IBA2015, an annual conference put on by the Illinois Broadcasters Association in Normal.
Attendees included General Managers, Sales Managers and Account Executives from stations around the state. Each found an INBA business card on the seat as they arrived. The card outlines the major benefits of INBA membership.
The INBA Board has discussed concerns that station management should be encouraging INBA involvement, especially when they often invest in professional development and training for sales people.
Hall encouraged the group to see it as “risk management.” She said “What does a bad advertisement cost your station? Probably some lost revenue. But what does a bad news story cost your station?”
Hall and Wilson are both Past Presidents of the INBA.
IBA President Dennis Lyle said he hopes to continue and even expand partnerships between the two organizations.
